Conklin Mark Twain
When Roy Conklin patented the first self-refillable pen, known as the Crescent Filler, in 1897, it gained the approval of writer Mark Twain, who has since become the official spokesperson for the Conklin brand, also making the Crescent Filler one of the most popular pens of history.
His statement has remained famous: "I also prefer it because it avoids making me mad as it does not roll off the desk".
